Perhaps off-topic, but I always thought AA and AS would be a good marriage. And I say this while all the airline merger rumors continue to stir. Make no mistake takeovers are eminent and we see this with UA's CEO statement with regard to AA, JetBlue's balance sheet, PE owned Southwest trying to re-invent the air travel experience and Spirit's struggle in BK Court...the Iran oil crisis is BS and is a distraction (by design). There is something much larger going on and anyone who believes otherwise is naive if not indifferent.
AA is less than twice AS’s market cap, so we’d be looking more USAir than TWA, a partnership perhaps over an acquisition. If United eats B6, then AA and AS might well be compelled to team up and Delta would be likely be scrambling to find a dance partner, as neither NK nor F9 would fit smoothly into their operation,
