Rudeness is another matter and I think that if you feel strongly that the situation warrants a complaint, you should register it. I've found recognition of PC status to be very inconsistent. I stayed at two different HI properties in Paris within the past week. The first one did little or nothing with respect to platinum status. The second provided a very nice room, a robe, etc. (Guess where I will be returning the next time.)

I have a hard time believing that IC hotels are involved in any kind of racial profiling. Most of the properties are independently owned. Again, if you believe that you were wronged, then you should lodge a complaint. But "rudeness" can become kind of a subjective judgement, too.
