For the vast majority of members the BAC changes aren't kicking in until May 1 so many still have their Gold card until then.. The T3 Flounge has always been pretty empty when I visited, reminded me of a Portacabin, unpleasant. I was just through the Flounge over in T5 and it was rammed.
The only times I've ever used the T3 F lounge has been when both the CX and Qantas lounge are not accepting OWE travellers with other carriers. Cathay's the best lounge by a mile, Qantas is pretty good. BA and AA are last resorts. Many frequent fliers know this, and if you're OWE, you're probably a frequent flyer.
