For the evenings, I naturally consulted the Michelin Guide. There are four Michelin-starred restaurants in and around Dresden, one of which is Heiderand. That was to be the first meal.
The restaurant has only just been awarded a Michelin star; it’s essentially a "Gasthaus" that has now switched to gourmet cuisine.

Homemade lemonade

The menu

Petit fours and bread

Char, carrot, sea buckthorn, coriander

Semi-rare, just lightly seared. A lovely dish.
Pirogge, kohlrabi, buttermilk, elderberry capers

This is lovely too.
Cod, hay, pine nuts, cauliflower

A really tasty dish – I really enjoyed it.
Chcory, beetroot, pistachio, indian pepper

I was a bit sceptical about this dish at first – chicory is often so bitter. But it tasted absolutely delicious.
Pineapple, sour cream, buckweat, milk chocolate

Also good.
Petit Fours

The bill

I guess it´s normal these days

That was a lovely meal; I can highly recommend Heiderand. It’s not a candlelit restaurant, but rather a relaxed meal in a laid-back atmosphere. I thought the price was fair.
