It might not be business light, but it seems like both light and classic business fares on Finnair don't include free seat selection, only flex tickets do. So whatever fare I've been rebooked into doesn't include it.

I don't think MCOL is worth the headache for €49, I'll just chance it at check-in.

While I would prefer a window seat, my issue is not the specific seat I want but that I paid for a ticket which included free seat selection and that has been taken from me involuntarily.
Personally, I would write it off, being one of those things. If you’d have paid €49 in the first place and they asked for it again after the cancellation, that’s a different story, but your Flight was cancelled and you were rebooked in a different booking class I guess which doesn’t allow free seat selection, being an Avios ticket on mother carrier prob doesn’t help.
I am pretty confident you my still get a window seat once online check in opens unless everyone else has pre paid or has status

Whether you end up with an aisle or window wouldn’t fall into the compensation category under comparable transport conditions I guess , as you are still conveyed in the business class cabin in a business class seat, equally to BA Club World seat or Club Suite, or a seat change in Club Europe from aisle to window in the same cabin etc. Others may have different opinions, but I wouldn’t go down the UK/EU261 or MCOL Route on this one, unless your flight was cancelled within 14 days of course and falls into a claimable category for the cancellation
