I'm a Canada-based Air Canada E50K (AC*G), and used to use LH for a lot of my flying to Europe (ie. fly to Frankfurt or Munich on AC or LH, and then connect on LH to smaller centers). I was a *A loyalist, and would pay extra for LH, put up with long connections, or even add connections to stick with them. When their catering all but disappeared, their narrowbodies all got slimline seats, and even after countless times getting treated like a criminal for a 9kg carry on, I stayed loyal.
But now, many colleagues, friends and I actively avoid LH in Europe - there are so many constant labour issues, that its at the point that you can't rely on the airline to get you from A to B. Killing Cityline overnight is just another perfect example.
I have lifetime *G via AC, but you can bet I'll be sticking to KLM whenever possible.
