When doing a flt that departs less than daily, the arriving crew will stay in a hotel, usually until the next flt departs, so on a CCU this could mean a 4 or 5 day trip. We do get paid meal allowances while away from base, and these generally reflect the cost of living in that country. India is not an unpopular destination amongst crew as there is so much to see and do (and buy!!!!) All crew have their favourite destinations and some they aren't so keen on. However, at BA we have little control over where we go.
