What on Earth is going on with this property?

Reading recent reviews here and elsewhere, I see conflicting reports on renovations (some say it's done, others say it's in progress). I see multiple reports of downgrades from rooms that were booked. 15+ minute waits for elevators if you are on high floors. Double charges for rooms or getting charged while staying on points.

I'm going to be in the area next month and would prefer this location over where we're currently booked... but my take on it is that this hotel is a mess. I would love for someone to tell me I am wrong .
