Update in case it helps anyone. My flight was due to leave in 8 hours time. I rang up the HONG KONG number and chose 3 for English. I got through to a service which gave me the option to choose 1 for First and Business class passengers (not heard that before) and I chose it, got picked up in less than 5 minutes. This was about 20 mins ago (so around 9:30am HK time, if this helps). Spoke to a REALLY nice and helpful man who changed both my mine (and my husband's economy) flight to OPEN status, valid until end march 2027. Very happy with that outcome. I have no desire to flight into Trumps mess right now. Our return was the day his "ceasefire" officially ended.... but it could have ended even today while in the air. Not happening.
