I wouldn't necessarily write off Google Flights. Last year, Google Flights was able to generate a 6 flight multi-city CX itinerary that included other OW flights that the CX website could not replicate in terms of specific flights and price. However, I called and the CX agent was able to reproduce the Google Flights itinerary with the flights and price I was looking for despite the inability of the CX website to do the same.
