How much time to allocate for hotel to airport travel?

Hi,
We have a morning flight from HKG back to the states (8:50am). We're staying at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong Island (in Wan Chai, I believe). We'll be using the Airport Express. We don't need to check in with a gate agent - hope to check in online or at an airport kiosk (NWA). The question is, when (how early) should we leave the hotel? Oh, and we do hope to spend a 1/2 hour or so at the Hong Kong lounge before our flight. Are security lines pretty bad around 7:30AM at the airport?
Thanks for the info from experienced HKG travellers!
