I know that AS has Status Protect for new parents, but does anyone know if they have similar status extensions for serious medical issues that prevent flying for an extended period of time? Shoot them a message to the reclaim your status email. Confirm with them via email they will honor it. Essentially you will need to drop below your current status for the 2027 year. At that point you will submit your documentation supporting your position. They did it for me when I was dealing with cancer. They really made the entire process pretty easy.
