Essential California email newsletters from the LA Times.
When I read this morning's newsletter, my reaction was that Andrew Campa's new tests comparing taking public transportation and rideshare to LAX are idiotic. He went from one extreme to the other. No one that I know would ever consider taking public transportation from Riverside or eastern Orange County to LAX. Tests of taking public transportation to LAX that people may actually consider using should be from downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, West Los Angeles, Pasadena or the San Fernando Valley.
I'll just add that his Metrolink train from Fullerton to Union Station was delayed by almost a hour due to an issue with a freight train blocking the tracks and then he missed the FlyAway bus due to his taking a restroom break and he had to wait 30 minutes for the next bus. But for those issues, the public transportation ride time would have taken only some 30 minutes longer than taking Uber/Lyft.
