I am at the other end of the spectrum. I hated that the multi-city booking engine on the Cathay site only showed the lowest-priced option, and only allowed me to book the lowest-priced option. This option was usually the most restrictive (i.e. change fees, and hefty cancellation fees, if cancellable). I am usually looking to book multi-city itineraries with much more flexibility to change flight dates and times (i.e. no change fee). And, even if I knew that my itinerary would be fixed, I would still be booking higher-priced alternatives because those (for a minimal increase in the fare) gave me significantly higher Status Points earning.

I do not make multi-city bookings on the Cathay site anymore. I now only use the Cathay App on my iPad or on my iPhone. The Apps’ functionality is much better than the website’s. For example, I get to choose between Light, Essential, and Flex fares without having to reenter the itinerary each time. When entering the itinerary, I enter the travel date AND THE PREFERRED DEPARTURE TIME, and the App populates with the flights closest to my selections. I cannot see this funtionality on the website. I can still then “select an alternate flight”, and the booking will reprice.
