Datapoint: Just applied for another Biz Plat. Currently have 1 Biz Plat (12/25), 1 Biz Gold (5/25), 2 Biz Green (downgrades), 1 BBP, 1 Aspire.
Googled “American Express business credit cards”, clicked on 1st result, that web page included the partial screenshot below. (Yesterday that webpage also had 3 cards but 3rd card was Blue Biz Plus with 15k SUB instead of Biz Cash.) Clicked on the Biz Plat application tab/link, went to application webpage, most fields already filled. Saw “not eligible” message, canceled application. Entire process took 4-5 minutes.
Conclusions: - LL on AmEx “Offer Terms” is no longer a guarantee of ineligibility for SUB.
- AmEx SUB eligibility these days is unpredictable.
- Uncertain if different application link methods (specific link from website ad vs Google searched) affects approval criteria and likelihood.
- Considering I’ve had several Biz Golds and several Biz Plats, uncertain if Biz Gold approval a few days ago and Biz Plat “not eligible” today was because my last Biz Gold approval was almost a year ago and last Biz Plat approval was only 4 months ago and/or if there is some other factor(s) involved.
