I recently (as in an hour ago) completed a stay at the Halifax Marriott - for many use cases, I think this is probably the best option in Halifax. It definitely got most of the basics right. Here are my impressions and photos:
Note on Upgrade: I had a bit of a kerfuffle with my room
assignment. I was upgraded to a Signature Suite before arrival. When I arrived around 4 PM, I was told that the assigned room 544 wasn’t ready and that I could either wait or take an Executive Suite 344. I had no idea that 344 looked into the indoor pool and had no outdoor exposure (544 would have). It also wasn’t a suite - just a triangle-shaped room with a couch (which does appear to match the online photos of these “suites.”) I received a call a few minutes after asking to wait for 544 (as it would have had some outside view) that a better suite had opened up from maintenance. I don’t know what room type I ended up with, but it was definitely better with a good layout and harbour view.
Pros:
- Cozy design - a bit dark, but it feels warm and comfortable inside
- Bed is great - very plush mattress, plush pillows, plush enough covers
- Shower pressure is good and strong
- Couch was comfortable
- Nice welcome gift of yummy sweets
- Did not partake in evening service - but the desserts looked good
- M Club breakfast is great - you order à la carte and the salmon Benedict was yummy and free!
- Offered late checkout - able to get requested 1 PM
Cons:
I would come back.
