Qatar has pushed back SFO until June now and USA awards are very hard to find...you need to book 360 days in advance if we are talking about J. If Y then it's due to the fact that SFO isn't going to be served or it's a big unknown. Plus new rules for Qatar is that they won't reroute you to another point; only refund of avios and taxes.
thanks for this.. i wasnt necessarily curious about saver js. id be happy to cough up and pay 170k avios per ticket… i didnt realize qatar had opted to stop operations till june.. i read they will update their schedules on the 8th (next week?). else, ill just have to reposition by picking seattle or dfw from sfo.. only issue is we wanted to bring a ton of goods (2x32 kgs) and what not… guess we’ll need to sacrifice that..
