when I looked for a non monthly version of Office a couple of years ago, I don't think it existed for personal users (only for corporate users) - great that it's now available.
when I did a restore from backup a few years ago in an Apple shop - I think they deprecated the MacOS on the target machine, and then did the transfer for me.
it was a few years ago, so my memory may be faulty!
