I am not in the hospitality industry but I enjoy luxury hotels very much and have gotten to know people in the industry quite well and some are close friends of mine. Perhaps looking at trade magazines or websites such as www.hotelsmag.com and www.hotel-online.com and www.hotelbusiness.com as well as www.hvsinternational.com may be a good starting point. You may also find reports and material on the web published by Hotel sector consultancies.

There might be leads at various Hotel School's like in Lausanne; Cornell and Boston University have such programme's; and even tne International Concierge Institute in Montreal. Each have websites which may provide you with contacts or links directing you further on.

For the luxury segment, perhaps you can approach a luxury hotel in your city or area. Perhaps a fax or e-mail to a Four Seasons, Mandarin-Oriental, Peninsula, or Ritz-Carlton Hotel may lead to someone in management to contacting you. You could also try this with Leading Hotels of the World, Small Luxury Hotels, and perhaps even Relais & Chateaux and Preferred Hotels and Resorts.

Luxury travel agencies and agents may be of help -- American Express publish reports on premium travel, as does Leading Hotels (I believe), and perhaps Virtuoso, Abercrombie and Kent, etc.

Stock market analysts may be help too, looking for Luxury Hotels analyst reports. There are usually analysts at the majors: Deloitte, Lehman Brothers, etc commenting on trends, financial results, etc.

Finally, local, national, and international travel/tourism organisations may have studies to lobby different levels of governments which may be of use to you also.

Good luck.
