Agreed - there are plenty of airlines in Russia, to name but one country, where I would feel far more at risk than with PIA. The aircraft PIA are using are brand new in the case of their 777 fleet, and their maintenance is generally supposed to be very good indeed. This appears to be an embarassing glitch (though also a damaging one in terms of customer perception).
