Functionally you could also just buy a cheap SFO-LAX and cancel it for credits, not much different than TB other than earlier expiration
Besides for it expiring 1 year later vs 5 years, with an FFC you are tying the credit to a single traveler which is a bigger restriction for me than the 1 year expiration because we travel either as a couple or a family so TB just works better for us as it allows the flexibility of booking for anyone.
