Japan is all about appearances, if you are neat, clean, and polite, they will treat you better. But this is really plenty of time, you should even have enough time to get local currency (if there is an ATM inside the customs area, I am not sure) and maybe a snack. Check out the airport while you're there, there aren't many like it!
