I know seat 49A is misaligned, but will it actually hinder the viewing? Will the wing flex also obstruct my view?
Having flown SYD-SCL (return) in an 789, albeit in J, your biggest issue will be the awful electronic window shades being locked by the crew. Otherwise, the seat itself looks like it’s in a reasonable position to see stuff if not cloudy.
QF used to fly from EZE on a 744 and a few years ago I was very lucky to score an old F class seat in the nose on a J tix. Four windows with views of ice and then Antartica in the distance! With four engines, they used to fly pretty much the GC route - adjusted for a bit of weather.
AFAIK, the 787s don’t fly nearly as far south due to ETOPS…😔
