My uses have changed recently. I used to save points for aspirational properties largely because I was only able to travel a couple times a year. Now I live on the road so I find my value much more skewed towards cheaper properties. It's emotionally difficult to spend 35,000 points on one night when I can spend 35,000 points on 7 nights if I'm particular about where and when I stay. The impact it has on my average cost per night makes a big difference.

Like everyone I'm really hoping these changes don't hurt too badly. Because of where and when I stay, I am holding out hope. But I am glad I had all my points wrapped up when the changes were announced.
