Wait…are T2/3 check in areas really specific so as to only take bags for D/E departures at 2, and F at 3.

Convenience aside, given that flights seem to interchange between use of those three areas, does it really matter? I honestly default to these days - to avoid pre-security construction mess for one - but also since we typically are going to MLL first anyway.
