I guess it's smart business. I mean, I've spent about 150000 dollars with them during my time but have never spent more than 15k a year, mainly because I'm not on OPM (which is where probably 90% of those spend level customers are from even though they bulk of them think THEY are high value but it's really their company credit card that does the lifting), and also because I generally loathe spending 4 digits a night on a hotel that is almost never worth it even though I can.
Point is, I guess I'm not the kind of customer they want so they won't miss my money, but I find it hard to believe that pushing a customer out who has spent that kind of money is smart business, but what do I know.
