On the other hand...

Going through the process of on-line check-in, I find that 10C is indeed a J class exit row aisle seat on the preffered left (of 2-3 seating) side of the plane, and still has an empty seat next to me.

Row 11 is also an exit row, and completely open. Which leads me to believe that it's perhaps a better seat, as I suspect the row 10 does NOT recline into exit row 11, while exit row 11 DOES recline into non-exit row 12. I called to change, but the flight is now under airport control, so no can do.

Oh well, I'm still in a decent seat.
