Only by manipulating the map and then "search here" pulled up the participating restaurants close to me.
If you are not finding options using the text search, try the map technique.
Agreed, this has been my experience as well. It's definitely frustrating. It seems like Amex in general isn't real great at search, I often experience this same thing when searching for FHR properties.

P.S. Admittedly, Resy existed before Amex purchased it, so Amex probably isn't completely responsible for their underlying tech stack, but still, come on Amex search capability should be table stakes in 2026!
