Your MP account doesn't actually get credited, they just leave the e-ticket open. An e-ticket is a voucher in the amount of your ticket. Whenever you use that voucher on an itinerary other than your original one, you pay a $100 service charge.



No. zrz70 was referring to the fact that if you increase your fare basis on the EXACT same fare basis, United waives the penalty, despite the fact that it is technically a new itinerary.



Yes, this is what we've said. If you do not use your $665 on this itinerary, then you can save the value for up to a year to be applied to any itinerary in your name, less the change fee in your original contract (in this case $150). So, you could spend $515 on any new UA ticket.


So you mean that I should pay USD100 to use the voucher of USD515 in the future unless I use the exact same fare basis, right?
