On a subsequent call I learned this is new to AA since the gift cards were only available starting last week or so and apparently I am not a unique example.
AA did a crappy job on rolling this one out.
How is any of that your problem? AA didn't implement adequate protections. AA's system was hacked. Miles held (virtually) by AA were stolen. Unless you gave someone your password, then this has nothing to do with
you. I'm venting a little bit, but I'm tired of these big companies constantly refusing to take responsibility for their own decisions.
