Within ST it doesn't matter that much, but AFKL also does this with many non-ST connecting partners, whether it's Atlantic, Loganair or Winair. You will randomly get either native or AF (KL) code proposed, which affects XP earnings.

This is a very common thing on AFKL and I wonder why because it makes them lose a bit of my business. It's cool that AFKL loves short connecting flights but I don't fancy waking up at 2:00 AM for a 6:00 departure from my home airport and then spend the rest of my morning praying that I'll make my 1:10 hrs connection to the once-a-day longhaul. I'd much rather pay for a hotel at AMS/CDG and relax, but this is very often not offered. Not even if I try the multicity tool to force the overnight (under 24hrs), it either throws an error or prices the thing at a full flex C fare for 12k€ one-way.

Hardcoding sometimes works but only if I'm booking from home/PC. I can't be bothered doing it on my phone, there are other airlines happy to take my money without a fight.
