I could understand them aligning all of the 787s because aircraft swaps are commonplace. Possibly, 777s as well but, switching between different types is not straightforward given 787s are 9 across in Y, compared with 10 in the 777s. So, there is always going to be an algorithm needed to sort everything out. Also, I think it would be odd, and a little bit misleading, if row 1 onwards is not used on 3 class aircraft.
