The hotel was fully booked the first night, so no upgrade but I was proactively offered to switch rooms the next day. I initially declined since I was travelling solo. However, the standard room was extremely compact (even when travelling solo I struggled to find a place to put my suitcase so it's not in the way of walking around) with noisy yet still inefficient AC, and tired in general. Not what I expect when paying almost 200€ per night, despite the location, nor what I expect from Hilton in general.
I contacted the front desk the next day to ask if the upgrade is still an option and they moved me to a nice large king room with a view of the cathedral. This was very spacious and pleasant.
Four drink vouchers received at check-in in lieu of non-existent lounge. Breakfast offering somewhat limited (but with wine / vodka if that's your thing!), separate diamond area provided. Room service limited to pizza.
I wouldn't book standard room here again, but will consider the property if price for the higher tiers rooms is not too high.
Interesting to see their AC still barely works. When I was there May of last year it was completely broken and blowing hot air couldn't imagine staying there in the warmer months.
