Whoever wrote that article doesn't understand airline fares because there has been no fare increase.
From my limited research, UA is not releasing below D on the first few days the new aircraft is on the route. After the first week or so (I didn't track to the day), they're releasing all the way down to P.

There are only eight of them. Presumably it will be just like E+ - a few pax will get premium seats they did not pay for. Personally, I prefer to be farther away from the lavs.
