Something seems off with Flightaware counts and the numbers don't add up. I get 75 total DL cancelled flights so far vs. the 112 count listed by Flightaware. Could be they are double counting some flights. Still not a great day for DL, but not sure I entirely trust Flightaware numbers at this point.
I think Flightaware is listing something as a cancellation today even if it was scheduled to depart yesterday but the decision was made today.
Examples: DL1104 is listed as a today cancellation but it was supposed to depart and arrive yesterday. Similarly, DL2590 was to fly yesterday ATL-BWI and it cancelled around 1:30 AM and is showing up on today's stats.
How are you counting cancellations?
