I'll wait to see what the terms are on who gets the extension before I cheer. I usually have a good bit of travel in march-april-may with QR and if this ends up being verbatim what the email says ("for those that were about to renew") then this won't help me much.
Also, for those that feel this email is a bit off tone, remember it is very on brand. QR doesn't do irrops well, and this fits that line pretty good.

Given how connected everyone is, I feel the best way to do it is a flat extension of some length (whether it is something like 3 months or going right out and doing a full year remains to be seen). If not that, some very transparent method that shows what qualifies someone for an extension and what doesn't.
Sending out extensions to some and not others using some opaque formula they don't want to share will only cause consternation, and I say that as someone who will likely requal regardless.
