I don't care what your status is, the areas where the hotel failed are basic things that should be done better for all guests. I don't consider that a failure of the hotel to recognize loyalty status, apart from the lack of upgrade given. It's mostly just a failure of the hotel to offer basic customer service levels. If they can't figure out how to check in a guest properly, or efficiently, or without rude staff, the loyalty recognition is the least of the problems they need to fix.
