I expect to have several consecutive “splurge” Sofitel stays that should take me from a 0- points Classic to Gold over the course of 11 days. The first stay should make me Silver, the next 3 days later (a 4-night stay) should take me to Gold, with a third 5- night stay beginning the next day. All different hotels - the first two in Morrocco.

I assume that until my last hotel stay has posted, the next hotel won’t know my new status, and I wouldn’t get the in- house perks. But for points - does it matter if the new status posts after check-in, but before check-out? Does my entitlement to the extra points depend on when the prior stay posts, or when the spending requirements were met (checkout date)? If the latter, would I have to contact Accor to get the extra points added?

Does the status change on Accor’s records change as soon as the stay that hit let me hit the new status posts, or does it take a few days to update?
