Despite the criticism IB gets, I must further add to the positive feedback. Meant to be flying on 9th April MXP-DOH-JNB (IB marketed, QR operated, booked directly with IB). Whilst the official policy only allows for travel up to 30th March, knowing the only other sensible
oneworld option would be BA and BA's flights can get very busy to South Africa, I thought I'd just call and ask what my options are, if any. I fully expected them to essentially say nothing can be done until the flexibility policy is extended. However, to my surprise, the call was answered within 2 minutes, the agent proactively offered me a choice of MXP/LIN-LHR-JNB with BA. He even offered me the option to change the return which is later in April, however I decided to hold out on that for now as perhaps optimistically I hope QR may be back in action then. Ticketed within 2 to 3 minutes by the agent. I am impressed.
