And with the cancellation of my Middle East flight in April it is now farewell from me! Did not expect it to be my last time through last month but world events have deemed that to be the case for now.

I became one of the accidental Golds during the double tier points promotion having never been above silver before but then this forum taught me many ways to easily retain it moving forward with or without the BAH promotion. I have deliberately not focussed on status with OneWorld or any alliance this year and have enjoyed booking to whichever airline was the most convenient/value for money or that I simply wanted to try, whereas in the past I would have always engineered my travel to credit to the BAEC. I accepted early on with the changes that I would not chase Gold, take the soft landing to Silver and then re-evaluate.

I will tell you if I miss any of it when I take my first flight as a Silver at the end of May.
