The statements "If I can maintain elite status, that would be great" and "I want to keep my OW status too" are not the same.
Did you have any trouble keeping QR status? Would still consider staying with QR Qatar (and avios)

Many ffp's have expiry, but have "earn-burn points in x months to maintain activity". Rules vary, but generally not hard. Some years ago I kept my AA ffp account alive with a 1 day Hertz rental (needed to rent anyway)
