Contacting AAdvantage Customer Service = SPAM?

No more than a minute after completing a phone call to customer service... I receive not one, but two emails in my inbox:

Subject: AAdvantageŽ Customer Service Follow-Up
Thank you for contacting AAdvantageŽ Customer Service.

Go to www.aadvantageeshopping.com for more information about the mileage
earning opportunity we discussed.

Regards,

Thank you for contacting AAdvantageŽ Customer Service.

Click here [here was hyperlinked to a page about the AAdvantage Citi card] for more information about the special bonus mile offer and mileage earning opportunity we discussed.

Umm... we never discussed any special bonus mile offers or mileage earning opportunities. In actuality I feel like an ingrate mentioning this because I had called to be given a partial set of e-upgrades for some orphaned mileage that got the heave-ho at midnight.

Is anyone else receiving unsolicited messages after contacting customer service? I'm not upset... I'm just wondering if this is SOP.
