Does anyone know how the new bonus points would apply to BA15/16, the Singapore stopping service to SYD?

BA say “*All extra tier points are per individual flight” but would a return trip with BA count as two business flights earning 1,000 bonus points, or four for 2,000 points, given it’s the same flight number? This may sway me whether to book BA or Qatar…
