It's been a long time since BE fares were all N. I think they can be any bucket now.....
This is incorrect.

Domestic BE fares have always been dual-inventory fares that depend on both Economy class inventory (first letter of fare basis code) and N inventory and will always book into N class. The second to last letter of fare basis code will always be a 'B'. Since they always book into N class, you can easily recognize them. N inventory will usually just be the same as Y. Above a certain point as you get into higher fares, they no longer have BE fare filings to match the Economy fare filings and you can only book into Economy fares. Domestically, they seem to generally stop filing matching BE fares once they get into V and higher fare classes. Internationally, it looks like they can go as high as U fares.

For most long haul international, they again depend on Economy inventory as first letter of fare basis code and use 'B' to identify them in second to last letter of fare basis code, but don't book into or depend on N class availability. They will just book into same booking class as Economy fares based on first letter of fare basis code.

The booking class of fares is shown on EF in the "Routing Rules" section of fares under the "BK" column. It's the first letter. Unfortunately, the booking class listed under the "Booking Class" column is not always correct.
