Curiosity, can you offer more details? Are you in RUH now or flying there between now and your CX ticket date?

You're asking for an origin change from a totally different market. It's a pretty far out request. You probably have good reasons but would you like to reroute to NRT from SFO? Why not JNB or JFK or SYD? CX just can't accommodate that.

They'll definitely refund the whole thing without issue regardless of any ticketing penalties.

Maybe if you can prove your only choice is an evacuation flight from RUH to LHR, then perhaps you will get some sympathy.

Ill just throw it out there, if you want a BA example, I lost about 5k USD on a return sector during COVID with BA in 2020. Had an F ticket that cost about 10k round trip, I skipped the second leg due to COVID starting up (early 2020), they gave me a 1 year extension or something, and that was that. I lost it. I was being cheap and bought a BA F ticket, which was maybe 2-3k cheaper than a CX F ticket. Maybe CX would've done the same but I still remember it bitterly!

Can you be more specific about what BA is doing here? Maybe it's truly parallel what you're asking here from CX, maybe not.
