Not to defend AC/AP, but what about if their kits are prepared and sent by an external supplier? The supplier has told AP since last november that the new kits will be sent on the third week of Feb. Oups...a glitch happens at the supplier, everything is delayed and they tell AC/AP about on Feb 22. Obviously, this is all scenarios, hypothesis and probably a far stretched distorsion of the reality...but instead of blaming AC/AP and blasting them once again maybe a bit of reality could help understand that a company of that size can't just turn around in 24 hours. As far as I'm concerned, according to the time they had, they did a good job by extending the life of the coupons by 2 weeks.
Should they have announce it on the web? YES Could they have just forget about it and NOT increase the life span of the coupon by two weeks? YES
In a crisis managment, you do what is best, based on the time you have and the resources available. Whatever they are doing, there will always be whiners.
As far as I'm concerned ^ AC/AP
