I think there are plenty of people on FT who will be happy to book a speculative deal knowing that the result will either be a safe, comfortable flight or a cancellation that would allow for a rebooking that doesn't go through the ME. EK has had to deal with nearby warzones for much of its lifespan, and while this is an extreme case at the moment given the situation at DXB, there's no evidence that EK is going to put a passenger in danger.
