SQ does offer a status match with other airlines. But you have to ask (nicely) via the contact from, it's not really listed anywhere.
I have done this successfully 2 weeks ago and got SQ Gold (via Qantas Platinum).
After using the contact form you get a response with a form to fill out. (This more or less mandatorily asks to have at least one travel booked with SQ already within 3 months, but also allows retrospective ones up to 1 month ago to count) and then it takes about a week for them to respond (successfully in my case).
As per what I have read, usually "Gold" statuses with other airlines don't count (the medium/second tier). For OneWorld that usually means you would need to be Emerald level - so for AA that would be at least Platinum Pro I think.
But still, always worth to still try (if your flight history shows you travel a lot on routes that SQ covers that can still work even if just gold).
