I've done Oz-LAX a few times recently arriving at or just before 6 AM. You'll have plenty of time for the D1 lounge. D1 security will be quick and whisk you directly up to the lounge, and the staff is very switched on to people who are grabbing a bite before getting on one of the morning eastbound flights.
