Perhaps I have something to learn here, but can you provide an example of an award where you could get better than 42,500 points per long haul segment?

I’ve been able to do LAX-EUR-ASA with AY, BA, and IB. I’ve been able to book Q-Suites LAX-DOH-ASA. But those were both 85,000 for the awards. I just don’t see how to maximize long haul J on an Alaska award beyond those scenarios.

Furthermore, with my goal of crossing all the longitudes as well as the equator I’m paying 85,000 to get to Australia, 60,000 to go to Asia, and 85,000 to go back home via Europe. I don’t see how I could make it any cheaper on an Alaska award.
